Little Barry

I love it when Barry sits like this
From almost the day he was born he has always
crossed his little feet.
It is a Warner trait that all the guys do so
it has been so cute to see him do it.
I have been trying to get a picture of him
doing it and finally did.
I guess allI had to do was put on the Celtic Woman
and he sits like that for the duration! (yes, we have yet another music lover!)

Love you little man!

Reporting In...

First week of Kindergarten is over and boy do we love it! We had a rough start on day one because during art Hallie decided she loved her new scissors so much that she would cut her own hair. Oh the days of being care free and doing all those fun things that we imagine in our cute little heads! Her teacher sent me the hair home in a ziploc bag along with a note explaining what happened. It went as follows:

Mr. and Mrs. Warner,
My name is Mrs. Helm a
nd I was Mrs. Boren's substitute today. Hallie cut her hair today during a cutting activity. She cut quite a chunk. We talked about scissors being only for paper. I hope this was the only time since she has such a cute hair cut. I'm sorry I couldn't catch her before it happened.

She was upset about it but don't worry Hallie, hair grows back and we all learn the hard way of what things we shouldn't do. You are still the best little kindergartener I know and I know your teacher still loves you ( so do I, to the moon and back)

Tyler is now a second year medical student and we are now the big kids on campus. To show this, all the guy students grew an "osteostache". Here is Tyler before he cut the official stache and then the lovely after shot. It was a hard month of letting him grow it out. I tried really hard to be happy about it but it really taught me that I love a clean shaven guy. It was fun seeing all the students with their Osteostaches and seeing the excitement of being the new 2nd years. And being the great husband that he is, he shaved the minute ( or 20 min.) he got home and looked so young again!

Kindergarten here I come

Miss Hallie started her first day of Kindergarten today. She was so brave and had no problem leaving me behind! We got to meet her teacher yesterday and Hallie was a little shy and wouldn't talk to her but it was most likely a good thing for the teacher. I am sure once Hallie warms up to her she will corner her and talk her ear off. Her teachers name is Mrs. Boren and seemed really nice.

Kindergarten here is an all day thing so this is going to be a big adjustment for me and Annie. Good thing Annie starts preschool in a week and a half. We already miss Hallie though and can't wait to hear how her day went. Love you Bubba and know that you are going to do so good in school.

Life is officially unpredictable...

Yesterday morning we were doing our normal morning routine of eating breakfast and reading the scriptures when we got thrown for a loop. I put Barry in his high chair as normal and turned to get his yogurt off the table and managed to hit my funny bone on the chair behind me in the process. I told Tyler I hit it and that it hurt really bad and he made the remark " shouldn't it be funny if you hit your funny bone." Then I remember feeling really nauseous and leaning over on the table. Next thing I know I hear Tyler saying my name and then seeing all my family staring at me while I am laying on the floor.
I guess the pain was to much for me and my brain decided that it would be best if I just passed out instead of dealing with the pain. The bad thing was that I was standing in front of our glass sliding door, which luckily, Annie had demanded that it be open that morning! So instead of replacing a glass door right now we are only replacing the screen door! Tyler rushed me to the ER to make sure the old head was ok, which it is perfect, and now we are back home and going on with life again.
Hallie and Annie were a little shook up about the whole thing. Hallie was a great big sister and kept hugging Annie and telling her it was ok, through her own tears! Annie wouldn't talk to me for most of the day after that and still keeps looking at me like she is nervous that I will do it again. Don't worry Annie, Mom will watch out for chairs from now on. It really makes you think more deeply about life and the blessings that we have.
Thanks to everyone who helped us so much yesterday. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. We sure love you all.

Haircut Already

Before

Having a boy is defiantly different than a girl. We have already had to give Barry his first haircut! It was getting out of control so Tyler finally took him up to the bathroom and went at it with the clippers. Barry did really well and looks like a new boy now. I can't believe how grown up it made him look.

After

I think Tyler has hair envy already. He cut his own hair that day and we took a picture of the two piles of hair. Well, I don't know if you can call Tyler's a pile, more like a dusting of hair. Don't worry Honey, remember that saying "not even a hair of their head will be lost."

Barry's long locks

Tyler's .. ummm.. hair

Here are some more cute pictures of the grand event. What a great bonding moment for them.

Are you in shock?

I know, I know, it has been a long while since I have updated this blog but we have been hanging out with family and friends and I just couldn't get myself to sit down at the computer long enough to update. Sorry. We are now back home and now that the laundry is somewhat (clean but still in baskets) caught up and we are back on our routine, I can give you a little update on what we are up to!
Tyler is back in school and now starting his 2nd year! Hooray! That first year flew by and we are now excited to be the "big" 2nd years in town. He is officially growing his "osteostache." I will have to post picture later and show you the awesome tradition that 2nd year students do to welcome in the 1st years. Tyler is loving life and will turn the big 29 tomorrow.
Hallie is all ready for kindergarten to start. She is so excited and asks me every day if this is the day that she gets to go to school. Over the summer she learned to jump into the pool and has become the little fish! She is even teaching herself to swim. She goes completely under water and will swim about 10 to 15 feet. I am amazed at her determination to learn. We spent almost everyday in the pool in St. George and they miss it tons. Luckily the school here provides us with a pool pass and they still get to enjoy the water. She really has become brave about trying things on her own. We went to Jumpin Jacks in St. George too and she went down all the big slides without even asking me to come. I think the favorite part of being with all our family and cousins was the sleepovers. She loved going and did great most of the time!
Annie doesn't seem to take as long at doing stuff as Hallie did. I think she is always trying to keep up with her big sister and does a great job at it. She has definitely gotten more attitude lately and keeps us on our toes with what she will say and do next. She loves being read to and kept both Grandmas reading most of the time we were with them. She never just brings one book either, she brings the whole book shelf! I would have to say one of her favorite things was going to Jumpin Jacks. For those of you who know Annie, she loves to jump and dance. She can do both of those things here and was in heaven. She was not so into the sleepovers but loved playing with cousins everyday and loved swimming. She was right with Hallie in learning to jump and put her head in the water. She also loved being with Grandma's and Grandpa's and was always following them around. I am sure they loved it as much as she did.
Barry is getting so big. He eats big food now and loves ice cream! He is not crawling yet but I don't blame him. It would be hard to get all that body to move. He loves to smile and loves anyone to hold him. He has a tendency to like males more than females with mom being the exception! He can now clap, wave high, and sits like a pro.He even is big enough to take baths with the girls and loves to splash them. He too loved the water! All of our family loved getting to meet him and soon found that he loves to scream and be as loud as his older sister Annie. We had a family reunion in Zions while we were there and Barry loved every minute of it. He is our outside baby for sure. I don't think Tyler was too happy about this cause he is not much of a camper but I am sure we will be doing our fair share of camping in the future. They had a Ranger that we took all the kids on rides with and Barry would squeal and laugh the whole time!
Bree or me! I am glad to be back home and back in my routine of things. But I miss my family like crazy. I loved being with them every minute of the trip and can't wait til we get to go back. I loved running with my dad, having facials with my Mom, eating chicken salad with my mother in law, and trying to convince my father in law that my kids didn't need handfuls of gummy bears every five minutes!!! I am still training for the half marathon and am feeling pretty good about it. I will run 8 this Saturday and hopefully I won't get discouraged from it! Wish me luck!

Here are a few fun pictures of our trip to St. George:

Eating lunch with one of my best friends from High school. Got to love Pizza Factory. Annie also found her future husband and loved telling everyone that she would marry him. Hallie said " That's funny, Isaac is 6 and I am 5 but he chooses the 3 year old. Silly"
Uncle Corey with the three kids. They love him and loved getting him to jump with them!
It's tea party time for all the beautiful princess' and handsome prince's. It was awesome!
I will post more pictures later. My girls have been so patient and now want me to play with them!
