B's 10 things

These are 10 things that make you know Bree is a Mom. And the greatest one around too. All moms have these to a certain extent I think.

- She can resolve conflict in about 2 seconds. We should put her in contact with the middle east.

-She has this knack of seeing into the future. Especially when bad consequences are about to come about because of what is happening. "Swinging the kids around by their arms and legs, someone is gonna get hurt."

-She has super hearing, she can hear the kids cry even before they think about it. See also the above item.

-She wields full given names like a broadsword.

-She can scold with no words whatsoever. She can be having a pleasant conversation on the phone with someone and wither the offending member of the family without altering tone of voice, using only her eyebrows and a few very well understood finger-jabs.

-She has memorized the words to about 50 kids books.

- She could hold an in-depth philosophical discussion over the strengths and weaknesses of the Wiggles approach to entertainment versus the take that Super Why holds. She won't, but she could.

-She manages the finances, which somehow allows much more expenditure in the areas of clothing and toys than in other areas such as the Husband Lunch Fund. (I am joking).

-Her abilities to force a minivan into a crowded parking space rival those of NASA astronauts.

-She looks fabulous ALWAYS.

We love you Bree, and hold you in the highest regard this Day of Mothers.

We made it

We have settled into our new place and we are absolutely loving it. We have found out that both Hallie and Annie love change and have been so good about going to a new house and new rooms. They are in heaven. We have been running from cousins house to cousins house and they never seem to get tired of it. Hallie has said a couple of times " I love living in St. George!"
Tyler has also been in heaven cause he hasn't had to work yet. He has cleaned his bike and is now working on our van. They both look awesome. Plus, the weather is awesome so he gets to ride the bike everywhere.
Of course you all know that I am in heaven. I just got done unloading and loading our new dishwasher. It took all but five minutes. Our dryer dried within 35 minutes and the clothes smelled great. We unloaded our van and only had to walk about 4 or 5 steps rather than the 450 steps it took back in SLC. And we have vaulted ceilings so our apartment feels rather large! Now don't get us a wrong, we absolutely loved living there and miss all of our great friends. But life right now can't get any better.
We will continue to keep you updated and hopefully we will find everything sooner or later to update photos!

The move is finally here!

I can't believe how quick the past two weeks has gone by. We are finally moving tomorrow morning and we couldn't be more excited. Mostly because the weather is so much warmer down south. We have had snow the last two days now. I guarantee that in the next month or so we will be wishing we lived back up here so we can have the cooler weather but as of now it is more than inviting to have warm heat!
Last Saturday we had the chance to go say good bye to our good friends the Huntingtons. Hallie and Annie love it when we go there and were not happy about leaving. Once we got in the car Hallie cried and told us that she just wanted to live with them. She is going to have a hard time leaving all her friends but change is good right? I sure hope she does good with it or else we will always be the bad guys with how often we are going to have to be moving in the future!
Annie has no idea what is going on. Other than the fact that all her toys are packed up and she has to always ask us where stuff is! She is just excited to be going to see Grandma's this weekend. I think her cup will be over flowing when she grasps the idea that we are going to be staying there for awhile!
Today is Tyler's last day at work! He has loved this job but is so excited for Med school that he has no problem moving! One of the Doctors that he works with gave him a stethoscope and he wore it all day. He loves it. Hallie was fascinated with it and Annie just kept running from it and yelling "No Doctor!"
Anyway, We are going to miss everyone here in Salt Lake and really hope that you will keep in touch. We will keep our Blog updated and will keep checking yours. And feel free to come visit anytime you are in the neighborhood (St. George or Missouri)

This week:

Looking ahead:

We are moving back to St. George, Bree is deathly ill (not only not better, probably worse), I quit, the girls are funnier, and we probably get sunburned.

Looking a week behind:

Packed (thanks to my mother and some neighbors), visited many many people including family I have not seen for some time (Bree having never met some), Hallie crying saying she would miss her friends, and the sun came out.

Hallie says:
"I am not a toy Dad, I am a people"
Annie says:
"I soccer"
Bree says:
"Blleeeeegghhhhh!"
Tyler says:
"Umm... now what?"

Random post.

My Life as of now...

I haven't posted in a long time because I have been confined to the bed, couch, or the toilet. I am feeling a bit better and just had to let everyone know that I have such an amazing Husband. First, he has taken over every responsibility that there ever was and does a great job at it. Second, I become lactose intolerant when I am pregnant and cereal becomes a major craving. Last night Tyler said he had a great idea for a date night for us. He ran to the store and surprised me with a bowl of corn flakes and lactose free milk. It was awesome!! I don't think I have had something that tasted so good. He really can do anything! Sometimes I wonder if I married a Super Hero.
We have been busy packing, ok I have only packed like 10 boxes, but it seems like a lot. One of our neighbors took the girls while I packed for a couple of hours and when Hallie came back in the house she let out a gasp and turned to me and said " Mom, are we moving to St. George Today?" She was beyond excited. It really is going to be so much fun living by family again for a short time. We are all excited and can't wait for May 3rd to come!
Hallie and Annie have been so much fun lately. They have been playing so good together and seem to be great friends. Although, Hallie does run a lot faster than Annie. Out on the playground Annie spends most of her time running to keep up with Hallie and her friends but they love her to play with them.
I also get released from my calling this next Sunday. I have been the R.S. president for almost 2 years now. I have loved this calling and have been so grateful for the opportunity that I have had to serve the women in our ward. It really has taught me that I never have anything too bad because just when I thought I could finally have self pity I would hear of another woman going through something worse. I feel so blessed in my life and know the Lord loves me and my family.

No one can say this blog is boring

Let me tell you all that has happened in the last week that is exciting:
Last week, Janae and Maddie and Lexi came up to see all my girls. You can tell from the pictures who the
closer cousins are... They all had a good time (minus Bree, who had a pukey time). Thank you Janae.

While Janae was here, we got some phone calls that Camdon VanGuilder, Bree's cousin, might possibly get stranded in Salt Lake due to all the airline confusion, while trying to get home from his mission in Argentina. We picked him up, drugged him, fed him, and put him back on an airplane the next day.

Janae then took Bree and the girls back to sunny St. George, I was going to follow them down on Friday after work. I did. Then I went for the largest parade-type motorcycle ride that I have ever been part of. (any pictures of that Kerry?) I spent the rest of the weekend trying to help my girls be a little better. Sunday, I thought that Bree hadn't had enough, and her mother concurred (thank you Kay), so I left them there again. I spent a day sick, and the rest of the time working. I did not however shave this whole time.

While in St. George, Bree's family concocted a hair-brained, irresponsible, crazy idea that we would move back to St. George before med school in August. (This idea was spawned by no less than two independant family groups). I said: "But I have no income!" Janae has found me a job in the hospital (thanks again Janae). "We have no place to live!" Chris and Jessica are moving out of their apartment in order to accommodate us (just kidding, they were leaving anyway, but thanks guys). "We have no excuse!" They told me In and Out will be opening soon. So now we have everything.

We are going back to Sun-Country.

P.S. No one feel shorted if this is the first that you have heard of this, we only decided last night to do this. In fact, Bree will be upset that I have posted it so quick... but that's the risk you run when you sleep in!

Whew...

I know you are all sitting on the edge of your seats, hanging on our every digital word. Now on with the show.

We got a place in Kirksville. My Dad heroically made the trek and found us a great place to lay our heads. I have some pictures of it on my phone, but since it is a maze of technology designed to foil the human intellect, you will have to borrow my phone to see them. It is a nice new duplex, 3 bed 3 bath (a-la- Lexington type thing). It is about a 1 minute walk from campus, in fact, the back of our property backs up to the back of campus. We are at the end of a street and so no one is hoggin up any of the yard on the side. We are excited again to go. Instead of pictures of the house, I give you picture of Bree, in the place that Adam dwelt.

In other news, Hallie is 4. She had huge party with all of her friends here at the house. There were no parents allowed and you can see that Ariel was invited. She was way excited. If Bree has more to tell you about that I will let her. For now a picture says a thousand words, so here are about 12.
Bree has been very mean, and not let me tell anyone. She even deleted a post I made about it at work, but now I have been given the ok and will say it now to the internet community. Come November we will have #3. Yup, Bree is sick as can be and tellin' me that 3 is a good number of children. President Monson only had 3, so she may be right...
