Hallie's Tubes

What mom has to go through 2 of her kids getting tubes in the same week.... most likely the one writing this post! Barry's were Monday and now Hallie got them out Thursday, along with her adenoids. Hers was a little more rough than Barry's but I think it was cause she was older and could understand that she had to go to the Hospital. She did great though. Lots of tears at the beginning but then she decided to be brave and that was the end of the tears. Of course she was still terrified to leave me but no tears.
I am so proud of her for being so brave. The Doctor came back after the surgery and said she had a hard time coming out of the anesthetics and had to be given 2 or 3 breathing treatments cause her lungs closed up. Scare me to death. Good thing they don't let the moms in the room with them cause I would have been screaming and freaking out. But all was good and she came back to me and has been cuddling me ever since. I love that girl! The only thing she cried for was to go home. The nurse told her she had to drink lots and go to the bathroom before she could. She downed 3 apple juices and was peeing within the hour. We went home a lot faster than anyone else there!
She couldn't believe how loud everyone was talking when she got done. She is glad to have her hearing back and glad she doesn't have to get tubes again.

What they are saying now

I love the random thoughts that my girls have. Hallie has been the queen of randomness lately. We have the primary c.d. playing in our van right now and they love the one that talks about how Jesus loves us and we need to follow him faithfully. On the way to school this is the conversation we had:
H "Mom, not everyone knows that Jesus loves them and that we need to follow him uh?
M "That's right Hallie."
H "Well, I wish I had a microphone so I could get up in front of everyone and sing this song for them so they could know Jesus loves them."

About made me cry (which isn't hard to do right now!) Then she started talking about her phone call with her cousin Madison.

H "When I got on the phone Madison said she missed me and I told her that I missed her too. I am ready to live in St. George again."
M "Maybe one day when dad is all done with school we can move back."
H " I just wish we could move to St. George and call it Ohio."

We went down to Columbia to get tubes in Barry's ears. We left the day before and slept in a hotel cause we had to get up to early. Here is our girls at 5:00 in the morning:

A "I love sleeping in hotels."
H "Me too."
A "are we going home now?"
H "What, did you think we just came here to sleep in the hotel. We have to go to the hospital now."
A "oh"

I love how grown up they think they are. By the way, Barry's tube surgery went awesome. He was gone for a total of 20 min. and they said he did great. It was so hard to have to give him to the nurse knowing he would cry but he really was a good sport about it. And he is already a much happier baby. I think he really had a hard time hearing cause he has been talking and singing a ton more since the tubes and is always smiling!

Ummmm... in case you haven't heard.

We found out yesterday that baby #4 is on the way! Let me emphasize on the yesterday part. Yes, we are only 4 or so weeks along. I know, I know most people wait 6 to 8 to 12 to 16 weeks to tell people but we rather enjoy you all suffering with us so you get to know the minute or hours that we do. Congrats, this is going to be a long 9 months for all of us. Don't hesitate to send words of encouragement along at any point of this pregnancy. And I will make sure you are up to date with every single little detail that needs to be shared!

What's on your mind Annie?

I love hearing the girls pray. Hallie's prayers are really starting to sound grown up. She tries to say what we say in our prayers and she is very thoughtful. Annie still says what she thinks, which is the way prayers should be! Here is her little prayer from last night:

"Help us to be happy and to listen to mom and dad. Help that me and Hallie and Dad can go to school. Help that mom and barry can stay home. Bless that Jesus and Santa can watch over us. and please bless that we can go to a park or disneyland soon."

Snow Day!

We got like 4 to 5 inches of snow last night. Guess what that means...... no school today. Hallie cheered when Tyler had her read it on the internet. Annie just smiled. Barry screamed. and Mom sighed. I really do enjoy these days of having all 3 kids home with me. We lay around, we play, we fight, we watch movies, we read books, we eat, we jump on the cushions, and we stay warm! I wonder if winters will be like this in Ohio?

Just wishing everyone everywhere a very Merry Christmas! We wish we could be with all of you but we are going to enjoy a Missouri Christmas for the last time. Jealous? Come on over, everyone is welcome!
