Soccer Time

Hallie had her first Soccer game last night. It was so fun to watch her. She loved it the first time she went in but when they called her out she came over to me and was smiling but quickly started crying. She couldn't understand why the other kids wouldn't let her kick the ball. After explaining to her that that is how you play and you just have to try and get the ball she was more willing to go in but still not wanting to. She then told us that she just wanted her trophy. We made the mistake of telling her that she would get a trophy at the end of soccer and she wanted it now. Only she called it her "Piston Cup." So once she learned that she had to play soccer in order to get a trophy she was on the white line waiting to go in. She did so good and actually kicked the ball a couple of times. She even assisted in making the only goal for the team! Her uncles would have been so proud of her. The cutest part was everytime she ran by us she would smile and almost pose so we could take a picture. Even Annie loved being there. We were constantly taking her off the field cause she wanted in on the action of kicking the ball. She loves to do whatever Hallie is doing and I am sure we will be getting her into soccer when she is old enough too. I can't believe that I am a soccer mom now. School, soccer, what is next- dating? They really grow up way to fast. But it is so much fun being with them through each new thing.

So cute. I love seeing little kids play soccer. Remember our senior year and we had to ref soccer in order to graduate. Your post made me think of that.
