Oops!

Annie finally lost a tooth! Ok, she had a little help from Hallie. They were fighting (yes, my children fight) over a blanket and Annie put it in her mouth to keep Hallie from getting it. This didn't stop Hallie though, she just yanked harder and out came the blanket and knocked Annies tooth loose! Annie was thrilled and worked on it all day. When the tooth still had not come out 4 hours later she decided that it was not that fun having a loose tooth. It hurt to eat food and her mouth was also hurting. I taught her how to break off pieces of her sandwich and chew it on the back teeth and gave her Tylenol for the pain. She was excited again!
Finally, during church the next day it came out. She carried the tooth around all day.
Showing it to everyone and anyone that would listen and look. She put it in a baggie to keep it safe and talked about the tooth fairy coming and giggling about it. Long story short, she was beyond thrilled and excited for the night to come.
Around 6:45 Hallie comes down and says to me "Mom is it morning yet?" Me "Yep, it is morning" Hallie "Oh no Mom, the tooth fairy didn't come and Annie is upstairs crying." My heart just dropped and I ran up to talk to her. She was so sad that the tooth fairy had not found her tooth. Can I just say that we are awful parents. How in the world could we forget to put money under the pillow of our sweet daughter who was so excited? Now, how do I make this up to her. Double the money? A note saying how retarded the fairy is?
I am so sorry little donk but I promise to make it up to you!

Side note: she only lost one tooth. The top "tooth" missing is actually a gap (thanks dad for the genes!) but she has been telling everyone for a long time now that she had lost a tooth! Now she refers to it as "my gap".

Tooth fairies write great notes. and doubling the money is always a great way to make it better. Better yet the tooth fairy was trying to keep the Sabbath day holy so she doesnt work that day anymore :) Hey she may even make a day trip if Hallie just leaves it in the room all day ;) Good luck!

Oh dear poor Annie. My parents forgot a few times. They just told me it was because I forgot to leave a note on my door telling the tooth fairy there was a tooth.

My Parents forgot ALL THE TIME when we were kids. My Dad always told us that we must not have looked good enough and it could have fallen under blankets, in our pillow, etc. He would just bring up the money and fiddle around until it suddenly appeared!! Good luck!

Oh I hate when I have to make up for the Tooth Fairy's slip ups! She'll just get to live up the lost tooth longer and get rewarded even better.
