We have had the most exciting and adventure filled weekend since arriving here. Let me start out by telling you about the flight. The Hallie and Annie are awesome flyers and we found out that our little Hallie gets a thrill out of take off and landing. I am so glad that Grandma was there with me, she was a big help and so were the present filled backpacks she brought. Tyler found us safe and we headed to Kirksville. Of course, we all slept the whole way, except Tyler! But the parts that I did see of the drive were absolutely beautiful. It is very green and looks like a tropical oasis!
When we got to Kirksville we drove straight to our new apartment and were able to sneak in and see it. It is huge and we have tons of room to live and grow. Hallie and Annie were so excited to be there and got the disappointment of their lives when they found out we had to stay in the Hotel for the first night. Moving day was eventful. We arranged for the Elders Quorum to come help Friday afternoon so Tyler started on is own in the morning. By afternoon he was worn out and was excited for help to come. But to our luck, no one showed up to help and then we get a call from the moving truck co. telling us they would be there in 1 hour to pick up the trailer. So Tyler and my Mom unloaded the remainder of the truck. It wouldn't have been so bad but we have a steep driveway and the trailer was parked on the road. Needless to say, both of them have not been able to walk for the past couple of days. Plus, you add in the humidity. It was great!!!
We were excited to go to church the next day and meet some people. Church was at 1 and we were actually on time. But to our dismay when Sacrament was over we found out from the ward clerk that we were in the wrong ward. FRUSTRATING! Plus, the Elders Quorum President ended up telling us that he had found out we were in the wrong ward so he contacted the other EQ's and asked him to set up moving in help too. It was better when we thought that only one ward had dumped on us but then we found out that we were dumped by two wards.
We are all moved in now and doing much better. We even got the chance to go to Nauvoo on Sunday. It was so amazing to walk around the temple and to feel that spirit. We stood on the banks of the Mississippi where the Saints crossed in the winter and we realized that we are so blessed and are thankful for the trials that we have.
Here are some pictures of our new "Home" and some of the fun wading pools that they have at the parks here.
**Pictures are not working right now. We will post them later.

yay i am so glad you posted hope things go better from here on out and that the girls continue to like it there! looks like hallie does not get her love for take off and landings from her aunt jessica but im glad she was blessed with that ability! keep posting love you guys a ton!
Two wards forgot about you guys. Your poor Mom and Tyler. I hope this next week is better. Good luck with everything.
Glad to hear that you guys arrived safely. I hope things get better as time goes on. Thank heavens for moms and all that they do to help us out!
I am glad you like your apartment, and its roomy - perfect! Moving is rough, but especially when you have to do it on your own. You guys are tough! I can't belive Hallie likes the take off, and the landing! My palms are getting sweaty just thinking aboout it! She is such a brave little girl!
We are so excited for your new adventure! Hopefully it just gets better and better. Hey one of my cousins lives in Kirksville. I'll get you her information! They really like it there :) We sure do miss you guys, it's been toooo long!
I hope the lack of help from your ward doesn't affect your already shaky testimonies. It sounds like they could have used a real good moving coordinator like we had in SLC! I'm glad to know you all made it safely and hope that things go more smoothly from here on out.
You should've called us and we could've come to help you out! Also I can't believe you went to Nauvoo with out calling! You drove right past us! OK so there will be plenty of time to see you guys. Isn't Nauvoo beautiful? Whenever you guys ever want to do a session since that's our stake's designated temple Jackson would love to have Hallie and Annie come play at our house. Call us when you get all settled in or if you need us to come down and help with anything. Glad you made it safely!
I am so glad you made it there and are safe. I can't believe that no one showed up to help it is funny how I can be mad at people I don't even know LOL. I hope that they realize what gems they have in you guys and that there was just a lack of communication for helping you move. I am glad that melissa is close that will be so good for you to have someone to watch the kids while you attend the temple and someone to visit on fun holidays when you can't come home. We love you tons and you are in our prayers
Yay!! I'm glad you guys made it okay. That sure stinks that you had to do all the moving yourself!! The same thing happened to us when we moved from SF to Hurricane...no one showed up to help (and I was pregnant). It makes for a REALLY fun day. Glad you survived!!
Oh, guys! I didn't know this! Wish Phil could have been more help that day. Well, we adore you and are so blessed to have met you- Emma asked today if we can go to your house again today- I said for them or their yard? and she said both ;) Talk to you soon!
Hey, I found your blog on the Davis's. I love that I can stalk everyone from the village :)
Where in Missouri are you? Carol and Kawika are there, in Columbia.
