Just wanted to post a few things here. No real connections, just what I would like everyone to hear and know.
1st thing: Little man is kicking butt. He has gained a pound and is looking really big already. He sleeps pretty dang good, and wakes up every 3 hours at night to eat and usually goes right back to sleep and stays pretty awake during the day. He usually has a few peaceful moments in the morning after Mom feeds him and then he is mauled the rest of the day by his sisters. They think that he is the best thing ever. We have a few more pictures of him and thus we will share.
He has even inspired Annie to potty train a little more diligently now that she is the big sister. She did good yesterday, and has put the big girl pants back on this morning, so we will see how well she holds up. She has been telling everyone that she does, or doesn't like their kisses. Last night putting her to bed, she didn't like mine. "Dad, I not like yoo kisses. I ony yike kisses from mom, and dwama, and Carrie and..." "Good night Annie." About 10 minutes later she is yelling for me. Normally they want some water, or some toy, or something, so I open the door "And dwammas kisses and moms kisses..." So I just shut the door.
Today we are going to go tree hunting. We are going to a tree farm and gonna cut it down ourselves and everything. We will get some pictures of that fo' sho'. We also have a webcam now. Not really sure what to do with it, any of you with one that want to see our faces or something, we can now do that.
So now to my slightly soap-boxy portion of this post. I will now 'slpain the difference and similarities of M.D. schools, and D.O. schools. I have a few friends in M.D. schools, and so I can tell you what differences I have heard of and noticed for my self. All in all, I think they are about 95% exactly the same. We all take the same classes in the same order at roughly the same time in our quarters. We then take very similar tests to become licenced, we take one called the COMLEX and the M.D.'s take the USMLE. We then all go through the same residencies with the same requirements. Any of either group can specialize in any branch they want, or are qualified for. So the differences. My MD buddies tell me that they take a statistics class (well, one did in one school) and it seems they stress genetics a bit more than we do. They seem to be groomed for research with these two things, well, just a little bit more than us anyway. (I'm talkin' like 2 or three lectures difference in class content here roughly). The MAJOR difference is that they teach us some manipulative medicine (like chiropractic style stuff). We are not chiropractors. 60% of D.O.'s don't ever use their manipulative stuff once they get to residency. 90% only use it for family and friends. Learning to do this, we learn a whole bunch of physical examination skills that would take an M.D.'s skills out to lunch, on his dime. But really once we hit residency we are all about the same. The reason they teach us the back popping is because the founder of D.O. did it, and it really is useful in it's own way. They do not teach it as a replacement for any sort of clinically proven methods of treatment. It is often supplemental to the normal treatments, or to treat things that aren't worth throwing a whole bunch of drugs at. So there you go. *stepping down off of soap box*.
We will talk at you all later.

Why the soap box? Are people giving you a hard time about the D.O. decision? Who wouldn't prefer a more natural approach to medicine?
Barry's adorable! I'm glad to hear that Annie's working on the potty training, AJ's working on it too - it's a tough go though isn't it?
Denver was lonely - we missed you guys!!
Hola che! I didn't know that's what you were going into. My PCP is a D.O., and I am very happy with him (not sure if any of this is due to him being a DO, or if it's just that he's a good practitioner with a good bedside manner.). I really like going to a chiropractor, but sometimes they want to go with the (ahem) more esoteric approaches, ignoring the traditional ones. MDs tend to scoff at anything that doesn't fit their point of view. I find DO's to be a good balance between the 2.
thank you for the pictures keep'm coming
Bree-
If I gave you a false sense that three kids was easy I am so very sorry :). All I can say is hang in there and by the time the Barry is nine months you may feel like you are starting to adjust- at least some days :). It is so fun to see pictures of them all. Emma just told me that she wanted to call Hallie. Good luck- if you need to vent I will be hear to listen and understand. Just know that it gets a LITTLE easier with time.
Barry is so cute. I am glad he is doing so well! I love that Annie doesn't like kisses from you Tyler. I think that's way funny.
Trust me, when I can find a great D.O. I am there! I think it is the better decision.
I love the picture with Tyler and all THREE kids he looks so proud and he should be you two have beautiful kids.
Thanks for the encouragement you gave me I hope I can come up with the same positive attitude for myself.
Congrats on the new baby Bree! he is so cute. I was actually supposed to be induced on the 12th as well but my little guy came on the 10th. Sorry to hear your labor was so rough, mine was actually great, Labor was about 7 hours and I only pushed for 4minutes before he was born. Glad to see your doing well!
