Zoo Day again

We made it up to the Zoo again yesterday and boy were we glad. The Zoo is normally really crowed with people and the animals are usually sleeping but today was way different. We went early enough that we beat the crowd and apparently early enough that all the animals were awake and moving. It was so much fun to see all of moving around. Even the huge python snake moved for us. Right now Hallie and Annie's favorite is the white alligator. We finally took a picture of it and got it with his eyes open. Which it is said that if you see a white alligator with his blue eyes open you will have good luck. Just to tell you a little bit about the white alligator- There are only seven in the world. The are not albino just born without the pigment in the skin that most alligators have. All seven came from the same mom and just happened to be found by a human. Which is lucky cause they sunburn easily and it can kill them. This one is at our Zoo until September and then will go back to the Zoo that he is on loan from. It has been so neat to see him and see how excited Hallie and Annie get over it. Next we went to the Tiger house and they were doing a show with him. Hallie loved it until he stood up on his hind legs and roared. She jumped off my lap and was behind me faster than I knew what was happening. But once she saw him walking around again she was happy. It was a fun day at the Zoo. We will miss living so close to the Zoo when we leave to go to Medical School. At least we still have a year!
We bought new shoes for Hallie the other day. She calls them her running shoes. It was so cute to watch her run everywhere in them. She asked me if she could come running with me know that she has her own running shoes. And she has been running with her arms up like a normal person running rather than her usual down by her side type of run. This is the only picture I have of her in them. She is in mid-sentence of tattling on Annie for something.
